After 13 years of technical and managerial involvement in the software
development process, I had formed some new ideas of my own -- ideas
regarding the environment and processes that fostered the creation of
excellent software. I finally took that first big step to form a
custom software development company. In the early days of that
fledgling company, I had a sprinkling of clients, or potential
clients, who had a solid idea they wanted to explore. For those who
did become clients, we worked together to reshape and refine their
ideas and design practical solutions. Together we explored potential
competitors, did market analysis, and completed other research to
validate our concept and approach.
Out of that process I discovered a real need for a software
development company that goes far beyond traditional models of
consulting or outsourcing, or even custom software development. And
out of that, the idea for Software Genesis was born.
Webster’s defines genesis as “the origin or coming into being of
something.” Obviously, the name Software Genesis reflects the fact
that we are in the business of creating exciting new products from
fresh original ideas. But there’s more. One of the reasons for the
name Software Genesis lies in the fact that the business model itself
is a new entity, a departure from traditional models of software
development and consulting relationships. Software Genesis offers a
whole new type of business relationship – one in which our primary
purpose is, “Invest in customer success.”
Throughout my career I have applied the principle of focusing on my
strengths and surrounding myself with others whose strengths
complement and balance my own. My strength is not in ideas; it’s in
implementation. But I knew lots of folks who had great dreams, and no
means of realizing them. The core of Software Genesis is bringing
together those who have ideas and those who have the ability to
implement those ideas. It is a powerful and synergistic combination.
If you are one of those people with the rare and precious gift of
imagination, we’d like to talk with you. We have a passion for
creating excellent software, and we’d like to partner with you to
share in bringing your product vision to life.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Scott Mills, President and Founder
